Le Petit Pali, St. Helena

Reimagined for Le Petit Pali, the three-acre Napa Valley campus sits at the edge of a vineyard, stepping down the hillside in terraces. Existing olives, cypress, and oaks were left to hold the frame, while fieldstone walls and bending paths were kept, tracing the contours of the slope. Loose, Mediterranean planting was layered through each level, giving every turn a new point of view. Italian terracotta pottery was added in generous clusters, offset by crisp white hourglass vessels for a sculptural note of the unexpected. On a sun terrace overlooking the vineyard, an eighteenth-century English wellhead was imported and repurposed as a fountain, an old stone presence at the center of a landscape that feels inherited.
