Oakhurst

In this Beverlywood garden of a Spanish Colonial Revival, the terrace meets the grade change from gate to front door, designed in collaboration with Lewis | Schoeplein Architects. Sandstone pavers move through biomorphic drifts of aromatic thyme and gardenia, grey swathes of santolina, and a solitary kumquat. At the perimeter, pineapple guava, rosemary, carrotwood, olive, and roses enclose the sun-drenched terrace in a loose veil. Behind the house, royal red bougainvillea, African iris, Chinese lantern, campanula, thyme, and gardenia crowd around a quiet fountain, abundance and order throughout the property.
